Guisados (Echo Park): Best tacos I've ever had on fresh homemade tortillas.

Katsuya (Brentwood): Set in a sleek and modern space, Katsuya has several locations and feautres small Japanese plates meant for sharing.

Osteria Mozza (West Hollywood): One of Mario Batali's best, this spot has a mozzarella bar and great fresh pasta dishes. Also worth a visit is Pizzeria Mozza right next door.

Urth Caffé: With many locations around the city, Urth features organic food and attracts some of LA's finest.

Zinqué (West Hollywood): Fresh salads and sandwiches. Coffee. Patio. The perfect lunch spot.

Blue Plate Taco (Santa Monica): Located in the Shore Hotel with a wonderful view of the beach. If you're a taco fan, this spot is for you. Sit on the patio with a pitcher of sangria and tacos à la carte.

Cecconi's (West Hollywood): Elegant and chic atmosphere for brunch, Cecconi's does not disappoint.

The Ivy (Beverly Hills): One of the most beautiful patios, if you are lucky enough to snag a table outside. Massive menu, definitely order the homemade guacamole with the fresh made corn flour tortillas for dipping and the grilled vegetable salad.

Murakami Sushi (West Hollywood): Cool sushi bar with custom rice bowls.

Ocean Star Restaurant (Monterey Park): Banquet hall-style setting serving up amazing dim sum and traditional Chinese food.

Messhall Kitchen (Los Feliz): Cool restaurant with daily specials - Tuesdays is $1 oysters and tacos!

Malibu Farm Cafe (Malibu): Situated on the end of the pier, this cafe offers fresh, local and organic fare with a beautiful view of the Pacific. And Gigi Hadid's backyard.

Sweet Rose Creamery (Brentwood): Small batch hand-crafted ice cream using organic ingredients, Sweet Rose creates classic and seasonal flavours such as fresh mint chip, malted milk, sweet corn and spiced pumpkin.

Jeni's (Los Feliz): Fresh homemade ice cream with seasonal flavours.

Mendocino Farms: Best. Sandwiches. Ever. My favourite is the vegan banh mi.

Alfred: Cafe with several locations around the city.

Pressed Juicery: Cold pressed juice.

Runyon Canyon (Hollywood Hills): Amazing hiking trails with amazing views.

Griffith Park Observatory (Los Feliz): Facing the Hollywood sign, hike up to the observatory for beautiful views of the city (try to avoid going when it's foggy or you won't be able to see DTLA).

Third Street Promenade (Santa Monica): Great outdoor mall.

Aviator Nation (Malibu): Laid-back, 70's inspired clothing brand selling loungewear and activewear.

Venice Beach: Bohemian, laid-back, beach vibes. Go for a walk or a rollerblade down the boardwalk.

LACMA (West Hollywood): Cool spot for the art-lover.

Malibu Country Mart: Outdoor shopping spot. A great bohemian/vintage-inspired women's clothing store to check out there is Planet Blue.

Americana at Brand (Glendale): Outdoor shopping spot.

The Broad (DTLA): LA's new contemporary art museum.


Day Trips: Big Sur, Carmel, Redwoods SP

Big Sur: Check out the Big Sur Roadhouse for a delicious BBQ lunch with a stunning view on the patio.

Carmel: Go on the 17-Mile Drive with over 20 points of interest that feature beautiful views and end with lunch at the Pebble Beach Golf Course.

Another cool pit stop is the Big Basin Redwoods State Park with some of the tallest trees I've ever seen.
